Messenger Setup Guide

1. Create a Facebook Page

Create a Facebook Page if you do not already have one.

2. Create a Facebook app

1. Navigate to https://developers.facebook.com.

2. Click "My Apps" in the top-right corner.

3. From the dropdown menu, click "+ Add New App".

4. Log in with your Facebook account if prompted.

5. In the popup, complete the required info.

6. Name the app something like "CompanyName Messenger App".

3. Add Messenger to your app

1. Scroll down and find "Messenger".

2. Click "Set up".

4. Connect the app to your Facebook Page

1. In the app dashboard, find the "Access Tokens" section.

2. Click the dropdown and select your page.

3. If you cannot find your page, go back and create it.

4. If you encounter a permissions error, click "Edit permissions" and follow the prompts.

5. After the token is generated, click it to copy to clipboard.

6. Paste the "Page Access Token" into the field with the same name in Ebbot.

5. Connect Ebbot to your Facebook app

1. In the app dashboard, find the "Webhooks" section.

2. Click "Subscribe to events".

3. Copy the "Callback URL" from Ebbot.

4. Paste it into the "Callback URL" field in Facebook.

5. In "Verify Token", use something easy to remember. Example: "secret-token-for-my-company".

6. Use dashes (-) instead of spaces between words.

7. For "Subscription Events", check "messages" and "messaging_postback".

8. Click "Verify and Save".

9. If you receive an error, wait a few seconds and try again.

6. Complete app settings

1. Add an app icon.

2. Add a privacy policy URL.

3. Select a category.

4. Select a business use.
